1. Overview

Screeen is built on a privacy-first principle: your recordings never leave your device. All screen capture, video processing, zoom effects, cursor animations, and export happen entirely on your local machine. We do not upload, stream, or access your recordings.

2. Information We Collect

• Account data: Name and email address you provide when creating an account.
• License data: Plan type, device count, and activation timestamps used to enforce your license.
• Payment data: Payments are processed by Polar (our payment provider). We never store your card details.
• Usage analytics: Anonymized, aggregated data (e.g. feature usage counts) collected via Google Analytics. No personally identifiable information is included.
• Support data: Information you voluntarily provide when contacting support.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

• Recordings: Your screen recordings are never uploaded to our servers.
• Screen content: We have no access to what appears on your screen.
• Microphone audio: Audio is recorded and processed locally only.
• Webcam footage: Webcam video (if used) is processed locally only.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your account data to authenticate you, deliver your license, and send transactional emails (receipts, license confirmations). We use anonymized analytics to understand how features are used and improve the product. We do not sell your data to third parties.

5. Data Storage

Account and license data are stored in Supabase (hosted in the EU). Payments are processed and stored by Polar. We retain your account data for as long as your account exists. You may request deletion at any time.

6. Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Authentication and database. EU-hosted.
• Polar: Payment processing.
• Google Analytics: Anonymized website analytics.
• Vercel: Website hosting.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can update your profile from the Account page, or contact support@screeen.co to request full account and data deletion. If you are in the EU, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication (session management). We use Google Analytics cookies for anonymized analytics. No advertising cookies are used.

9. Children's Privacy

Screeen is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email. Your continued use of Screeen after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
